July 2, 2026, Lancaster ISD/Lancaster, TX --Lancaster ISD continues to build academic momentum as preliminary State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) results show significant growth in student achievement across multiple subject areas.
Although the Texas Education Agency (TEA) has not officially released district STAAR results, Lancaster ISD's preliminary data shows notable increases in the percentage of students performing at the “Meets Grade Level” standard. STAAR performance is measured across four achievement levels: “Did Not Meet Grade Level,” “Approaches Grade Level,” ”Meets Grade Level,” and “Masters Grade Level.” Students who achieve the “Meets Grade Level” standard demonstrate a strong understanding of grade level expectations and are well prepared for success in the next grade level or course.
Lancaster ISD's preliminary assessment increase highlights are:
Algebra I End-of-Course: +22 percentage points
Biology End-of-Course: +23 percentage points
English I End-of-Course: +15 percentage points
English II End-of-Course: +14 percentage points
Grade 7 Reading: +6 percentage points
"These preliminary results reflect the dedication of our students, teachers, campus leaders, and support staff, as well as our district's continued commitment to academic excellence," said Patonia Bell, Chief of Data and Accountability. "The significant gains across multiple End-of-Course assessments and seventh-grade reading are encouraging indicators that the instructional strategies implemented throughout the district are making a meaningful difference for our students. We look forward to sharing the official results with our community once they are released by TEA."
Because these results are preliminary, they remain subject to the Texas Education Agency's final review before being officially released. The agency is expected to release the official STAAR results according to the following schedule:
July 14: End-of-Course (EOC) results
July 28: Grades 3–8 STAAR results
July 31: Science STAAR results
Lancaster ISD will share additional information with families and the community following TEA's official release of the results. Parents may visit the TEA Assessment Portal to review student STAAR test results at the following link: https://www.lancasterisd.org/article/784042.
