Jett

Lancaster High School (LHS) Associate Principal, Kirsten Jett, will serve as interim principal of Lancaster Middle School (LMS).

Since 2018, Jett has served as associate principal of Lancaster High School and will assume the LMS interim principal role on December 1, 2021. Current Lancaster Middle School Principal, Willisa House-Sassa, will join Lancaster High School interim principal Derek Stricklin as the LHS acting associate principal.

At LHS, Jett helped increase student enrollment in advanced academic courses and spearheaded recognizing student academic achievement. She is excited to transition to the interim principal of Lancaster Middle School and plans to focus on building relationships with students and staff while determining strengths and growth opportunities for the campus.

“I am honored to receive this appointment and excited to lead Lancaster Middle School. My goal is to provide a supportive climate and culture on our campus that is conducive to teaching and learning,” Jett said. “I truly believe that every child can exceed and that the cooperation between home and school builds trust and self-esteem in students. I look forward to interacting with all the students, parents, and faculty in our school community this year.”

Current George Washington Carver 6th Grade STEM Learning Center (GWC) Assistant Principal, Laquetta Conway, will join Jett’s middle school leadership team as the acting associate principal. In addition, the current LMS Associate Principal, Latosha Dawn, will transition to the GWC leadership team as an acting administrator on special assignment.

On Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at 6:00 pm, Lancaster Middle School will host an in-person principal meet and greet in the school’s library. Parents are encouraged to attend the event to meet Mrs. Jett in person and receive information about the leadership transition and what to expect for the remainder of the school year.
