Tatanisha Stevenson

Lancaster ISD is pleased to announce the appointment of Ta-Tanisha Stevenson as principal of Belt Line Elementary. She will take over for Wendy Hawthorne, who is retiring in December.

Stevenson has served as Principal of Houston Elementary since 2016. In her role as principal, she created a culture of pride and high expectations for both academics and behavior.

Stevenson has held numerous leadership roles throughout her tenure in education. She has also been a sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade teacher in Odessa, Grand Prairie, and Lancaster, TX.

“I am enthusiastic about joining Belt Line Elementary next year,” said Stevenson. “I previously worked there as the assistant principal, and I am eager to join the staff again. The campus excels academically and I am ready to continue its academic success as well as enhance the campus climate and culture. I recently did a meet and greet with the staff, and they welcomed me with open arms. The best is yet to come.”

Stevenson holds a Bachelor's degree in English from The University of Texas at Austin, and a Master’s degree in Education Leadership and Policy Studies from The University of Texas at Arlington. Her hobbies include praise dancing and writing. She has one daughter, Taryn, who is a graduate of the Lancaster High School class of 2022.
