May 5, 2026, Lancaster ISD/Lancaster, TX -- Lancaster ISD students recently put their STEM skills to the test during the inaugural Tournament of Tigers Robotics Competition, a collaborative effort between Lancaster ISD and HAKing Innovation with support from the Toyota Leadership Academy.
The event showcased innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving across multiple grade levels. In the Lego competition for second and third graders, every team walked away a winner with awards recognizing coding, poster design, and teamwork. In the Elementary VEX division, Rolling Hills Elementary’s “Robot Rockstars” earned first place, followed by RPM “Superstars” and Houston Elementary School’s “Masters of Mechanics.” In the Middle School VEX competition, BAMO claimed first place, with G.W. Carver 6th Grade STEM Learning Center’s “Team Verified” and Lancaster Middle School rounding out the top three.
Families also had the opportunity to explore Lancaster ISD’s high school robotics pathway and learn about a new partnership with Texas State Technical College that will provide students with Robotics and Industrial Controls certifications—opening doors to high-paying technology careers without requiring a traditional four-year degree.
