Employees

As we prepare to close out the 2022-2023 school year, we want to inform you about two important leadership transitions that will take place within our district during the upcoming school year. These changes will help ensure that our schools continue to improve and thrive.

Our district is pleased to announce that Nakesha Reddick will be transitioning to the position of School Improvement Project Manager for Lancaster ISD. Currently, Ms. Reddick serves as the principal of George Washington Carver 6th Grade STEM Learning Center. In her new role as project manager, Reddick will have a direct focus on GWC. She will ensure that our 6th-grade center reaches the goals set by the Texas Education Agency to improve campus accountability ratings. With her experience leading the GWC campus, and expertise in elementary and secondary campus leadership, we are confident that Ms. Reddick will establish the path needed for GWC to grow into a highly-rated campus.

Veteran principal Gail Wright will transition to secondary campus leadership and lead the GWC 6th Grade STEM Learning Center campus as principal. Ms. Wright has been an integral part of our district for many years. Under her leadership, West Main Elementary has consistently produced impressive TEA testing results. The campus recently received an "A" rating from the Texas Education Agency. We are excited to see Ms. Wright grow professionally within our district, and utilize her leadership skills and experience on the GWC campus.

Our district will immediately begin the interview process to select the next principal of West Main Elementary. We are committed to finding a leader who will continue to build upon the school's success and provide our students with a nurturing educational environment.

As we move forward with these transitions, we are confident that our schools will continue to thrive and that our students will be challenged and inspired each day. We will keep you informed throughout this process and welcome your feedback and input.
