Inclement Weather Protocol

Lancaster ISD is monitoring the weather in our area, and there is a chance for winter weather tomorrow morning (1/30/23). Depending on the conditions, parents and students may need extra time during the morning commute. District officials will continue to assess road conditions throughout our district and surrounding areas in the early morning, Monday evening, and early Tuesday morning.

If a decision is made to either delay or cancel school, we will make every effort to inform our community by 5:30 am. However, it’s important to note that classes will proceed as normal if no announcement is made.

Lancaster ISD will always communicate with you first regarding inclement weather delays or closings. If a decision is made to close or delay school, district officials will post notifications by 5:30 am on the day of school through the communication channels listed below:

  • Lancaster ISD ThrillShare Alert System: Lancaster ISD Automated Call/Text/Email (If your contact information has recently changed, please visit the Lancaster ISD Parent Portal to update your information to receive district notifications.)

  • Lancaster ISD Social Media: Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter

In addition, the following media outlets will have information regarding current weather conditions in our area:

  • Television Stations: KDFW - Channel 4; KXAS - Channel 5; WFAA- Channel 8; KTVT - Channel 11

All decisions to either hold, cancel, or delay school will be made with the safety of our students and staff in mind. Please click here to review our inclement weather protocols and procedures.
