Academic Decision Day 2025

May 2, 2025, Lancaster ISD/Lancaster, TX -- Lancaster High School hosted its annual Academic Decision Day, honoring the Class of 2025's post-secondary commitments. This event, aligned with the national GenTX Decision Day initiative, recognizes seniors as they announce their plans to attend colleges, universities, or enlist in military service.

The LHS Decision Day highlighted the achievements of 142 seniors who signed letters of intent, collectively earning over $17.5 million in scholarships.

“This is great. It feels like all of my hard work and the encouragement from my teachers paid off,” said Senior Tyrek Jackson.

Jackson received over 500,000 dollars in scholarships and will be attending The University of Houston in the fall.

The event was orchestrated by the Lancaster High School counseling team, which ensures students are well-prepared for their next academic chapters.

"I'm so proud of this group of seniors. Watching them become excited and ultimately commit to a college was a great thing to witness," said Bevelon White, LHS Lead Counselor. "It feels amazing knowing I have made an impact on a student's life by helping them take the steps needed to attend college next year."

Academic Decision Day is a great day of celebration and a time for students to see their hard work literally pay off. It allows the high school educators to reflect on how they have fostered academic excellence and witness their students’ success.
