Graduation Ceremony Date 

Lancaster High School graduation will be Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at 6:00 pm at the University of Texas at Arlington College Park Center. The doors will open at 5:00 pm.

  • Glitter/Confetti/Streamers
  • Laser pointers
  • Use of tobacco products of any kind & e-cigs inside or outside the College Park Center. The University of Texas at Arlington is a tobacco-free campus.

*With a goal to enhance public safety and the fan experience at College Park Center, a clear bag policy is in full effect for all events at College Park Center. Bags are subject to inspection before entry.

Graduation Ceremony at UTA College Park Center 

  • Parking is handled by UTA and is $15 per car. A parking attendant will be in the parking lots on the campus for you to pay for parking by credit card.

Graduation Rehearsal

LHS graduates will rehearse for the commencement ceremony on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. This specific information will be shared directly with the graduates and parents from their senior advisor.

Graduation Dress Code:

Ladies: Skirt or dress shorter than the gown (sundress is ok but cannot be strapless) or Khaki slacks (dark is better; no blue jeans); dress shoes, open-toed shoes are fine, no flip flops. We caution against wearing heels that are too high; you will be walking up a ramp and descending a ramp, and we don’t want any injuries. 

Men: Dress or Khaki slacks (dark is better; no blue jeans), dress shoes or dress boots (no sandals or athletic shoes), collared dress shirt and tie (white shirt looks best). 

All: Only small clear bags will be allowed during the ceremony. Graduates are encouraged to use a clear small crossbody that can be hidden under their gown. Graduates will not be allowed to leave any items in the practice gyms. Cell phones will be allowed but need to be put away during the ceremony.

Caps

Decorations on graduation caps (mortar boards) are allowed as a symbol of accomplishment. Caps are the only part of the regalia you may decorate. Students may celebrate and decorate within the guidelines below: 

  • Only the top of the cap may be decorated. 

  • Do not hang decorations from the cap. 

  • Tall embellishments that interfere with the view of students behind you are not allowed. 

  • Caps must not have any advertisements, symbols, words, or slogans conveying messages inappropriate at a commencement ceremony. 

  • Caps must not threaten the safety of others or use hate speech of any kind. 

  • Obscene, profane, or vulgar language is expressly prohibited.

 *Please note that not adhering to the abovementioned guidelines could prevent a student from participating in the graduation ceremony.

 Graduation Stoles

A graduation stole is a decorative vestment worn by students who are members of the graduating class. All students should wear the stole provided with their purchased regalia. Cultural stoles are allowed to be worn; however, no personal, individual stoles are allowed. 

 Procedures for students participating in the graduation ceremony: 

  • On the day of graduation, students will report to LHS between 12:45-1:45

  • All students must ride the bus for graduation.

  • No one will be allowed to arrive individually at UTA

  • All buses will depart LHS at 2:15 pm

  • All students will arrive at UTA by 3 pm

  • Students may depart the ceremony with their families. Students who will need to return to the school may do so by bus, which will be provided by the high school.

Graduation Live Stream

The graduation ceremony will be streamed live for family members who are unable to attend the ceremony. A link to access the online streaming for the graduation will be posted on this page and shared via email and social media on the day of the ceremony.

Individual Graduates Photographs

A link to the website to download official graduation portraits will be available on the page after the conclusion of the ceremony.
