May 14, 2025, Lancaster ISD/Lancaster, TX -- During a regularly scheduled work session & governance workshop meeting, Lancaster ISD held the official swearing-in and oath of office ceremony for trustees representing Districts 3 and 6.
Johnnaé Cortez was sworn in as the new trustee for District 3. A proud Lancaster ISD parent and active community member, Cortez has served on several district committees and brings a strong advocacy background focused on student success and family engagement.
Also taking the oath of office was Carolyn Ann Morris, who begins another term representing District 6. First elected to the Lancaster ISD Board of Trustees in 1985, Morris has been a consistent and passionate voice for students and staff across the district. Her long-standing service has helped guide the district through decades of academic growth and transition. Additionally, Morris is one of the longest serving public servants in the City of Lancaster.
Lancaster ISD thanks both trustees for their commitment to public education and looks forward to their continued leadership.
