August 15, 2025, Lancaster ISD/Lancaster, Texas --The Texas Education Agency has released the 2024–2025 state accountability ratings, and Lancaster ISD is proud to report measurable growth across most campuses. While the district earned a “C” rating amid ongoing changes to the state’s accountability system, our teachers, leaders, and students have shown resilience, focus, and results.

  • Lancaster High School posted a steady increase from 76 to 78 reinforcing its strong academic reputation, a four year consecutive 100% graduation rate, and College, Career, and Military Readiness success.

  • While Pleasant Run Elementary saw a decrease, district leaders identified the need early and began targeted instructional changes last school year to support improvement.

Superintendent of Schools, Dr. A.K. Perera, commended the efforts of the district and the dedication of staff and students.

“Our educators have worked tirelessly to ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed. These gains are the result of intentional teaching, strong campus leadership, and the unwavering support of our families and community. An accountability score is only one measure during a snapshot in time, but the progress we see in our classrooms every day tells the real story.”

Deputy Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, Dr. Cassandra Barker, emphasized the strategic work behind the results.

“Even as the state’s accountability rubric shifted and ratings were delayed, our teaching and learning team stayed focused on what matters most, rigorous, high-quality instruction in every classroom. We implemented targeted, research-based practices last year that are already producing results, and we will continue to build on that momentum.”

To ensure continued growth and success, Lancaster ISD engaged educators in extensive summer professional learning and will continue to:

  • Build on the academic gains made this year by maintaining a districtwide focus on rigorous instruction, high expectations, and student engagement.

  • Close the gaps with special populations by implementing targeted strategies to support emergent bilingual, special education, and economically disadvantaged students, ensuring equitable access to academic success for all.

  • Strengthening academic growth performance with targeted support and providing additional instructional coaching, data-driven interventions, and resources to campuses with the greatest areas of need.

  • Strengthen college, career, and military readiness for increased opportunities for dual credit, industry certifications, and career exploration for secondary students.

Lancaster ISD remains committed to transparent communication, continuous improvement, and providing every student with the education they deserve. Detailed campus ratings are posted publicly on TXSchools.gov.
