LANCASTER, Texas -- On Saturday, February 25, students across Lancaster ISD competed in the annual Black History Bowl. Student finalists participated in an oratory contest, while student teams competed in an academic quiz bowl. Attendees also ventured through the 'Hall of Hair Chronicles to see how Black hairstyles have evolved throughout the decades. Students and families also learned line dances, participated in STEAM challenges, and painted Andrika medallions with designs and symbols related to Black and African cultures. In addition, student art and photography were displayed as attendees visited the different Black History Bowl activities.
