The Role of the School Registrar

Main Duties
The main job duty of a high school registrar is registering and withdrawing students. The registrar requests records and transcripts for new students transferring from other districts and verifies residency.

Databases and Transcripts
The high school registrar maintains databases of grades, and sometimes attendance and extracurricular activity records for all students. She provides transcripts of grades to colleges and technical schools upon request.

Grades and Credits Verification
The job description for a high school registrar includes generating report cards and verifying credits earned to fulfill graduation requirements.

Registration Information

The following items are required for registering to become a Lancaster High  School student.

  • Birth Certificate

  • Social Security Card

  • Verification of Residence (settlement on a house, lease agreement, latest gas/water bill)

  • Immunization Records

  • Latest Transcripts

  • If withdrawing from another school, a withdrawal slip from the previous school

Additional Information that may be required:
If the parents are divorced or separated, the most recent child custody papers.
