At the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year, the GWC 6th Grade STEM Learning Center will transition into an Accelerating Campus Excellence (ACE) program campus.
Over the past two years, GWC has been rated as "Improvement Required (IR)" by the Texas Education Agency. This led Lancaster ISD to secure the School Action Fund Grant, which allows the district to implement a robust school improvement plan monitored by TEA. The goal of this effort is to dramatically improve student outcomes at a historically low-performing campus by strategically recruiting effective teachers and leaders and establishing a high-expectations learning environment.
Under the School Action Fund Grant, Lancaster ISD selected the Accelerating Campus Excellence (ACE) Restart Program to accelerate instructional excellence through the implementation of five key levers: Strategic Staffing, Instructional Excellence, Social-Emotional Learning, Extended Learning, and Supportive Partnerships.
The ACE model is designed to inspire accomplished educators with a strong history of student success to become part of an ACE campus. This unique opportunity to collaborate with a select team of educators, coupled with substantial financial incentives, consistently leads to improved academic outcomes for students in high-needs schools.
