Greeting LMS Families,

I am thrilled to welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year as the new Principal of Lancaster Middle School! This year marks my 26th year in education and my very first as part of the WEBO Nation. There is plenty to be excited about! We have 3 new administrators, over 25 new staff members, more than 520 new incoming students, and the building received a facelift over the summer. I'm fired up about our fresh start and the opportunity to partner together to take Lancaster Middle School to new heights!!! This newsletter will be sent out bi-weekly and will serve as your one-stop shop for all things related to LMS. Please review the contents of this newsletter to ensure your student is prepared for school. I am looking forward to a great school year. This year's theme is "We Are One". Together we will ensure the success of all LMS students!!!

Over the past few days, we have been altering student schedules due to overcrowded classes or requirement errors. All students must have at least 4 core subjects (English, Math, Science, and Social Studies), 1 Physical Education course (P.E., Athletics, ROTC, Dance), 1 Fine Arts course (Theatre, Band, Choir, Piano) and 2 other electives. Students were also given lab classes if we believed it would benefit them in the long run. In the process, many students did not receive their elective of choice. My plan is to give every student an elective of choice. Please click the "LMS Schedule Change Form" if your child did not receive an elective or choice, or was placed in an elective that does not interest your child. These changes will be made after all classes have been balanced and logistic corrections have been made. I appreciate your patience!!!

Doors open at 7:00am for student arrival. Bus riders will enter the building on the South entry near the gym. Car riders and walkers will continue to enter on the North side. Students are to be dropped off at the front of the building at the car drop off line and parents will exit the parking lot at Lancaster Park Drive. Parents are reminded to follow all safety procedures from our campus and district School Resource Officers and Crossing Guards.

• Shorts/Skirt length can be no more than 2 inches above the knee.
• No revealing/provocative shirts or tops.
• No tight fitting outfits.
• No doo-rags, bandanas, hats or bonnets.
• No flip-flops, slippers, slides, or Crocs (safety reasons).
• No clothing with pictures or emblems with vulgar, obscene, or drug/tobacco related items.
• Shirts must be a white, yellow, or gray solid collared polo.

Student ID's will be issued starting next Monday.

• Students are required to wear ID's daily and at all times.
• Lost badge may be replace at a fee of $5.
• Temporary badges will cost $1.
• If damaged or defaced, students will be required to purchase a new badge.
• Students must wear badges at school related/school sponsored events.
• Parents must attend High School event with their Middle School student.
