Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies (Early Childhood Education)
University of North Texas, Denton, Texas, 2004

I have been an advocate of education for children in the southern sector of  Dallas County for many years.  As a teacher in the Lancaster Independent School  District since 2004, I have worked many arduous hours to ensure that no child in  my community, the community where I currently reside, and where I grew up in as  a child, is left behind.  Currently, I have the distinct honor of serving as  a  gifted and talented educator for Lancaster ISD's  Exploration Academy.  I am  responsible for challenging gifted students to think critically,  work  collaboratively and reach their highest potential as a  scholar and as a  citizen.  The Exploration Academy places a strong emphasis on   the development  of  21st  century skills such as  technology literacy, research,  problem solving  and  creativity.  My personal goal is to ensure that  each student's unique needs  as  a  gifted learner is met.

"Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow."
