In Lancaster ISD, we understand that parents have a very critical role in child development and it is essential that children start school with certain background knowledge and learning experiences.
In fact, the first words that come from a baby are based on what is heard from their parents. It is at home and in the community that our children are initially exposed to vocabulary words and begin their understanding of finances and life in general. We understand that experiences are different from household to household, but what we recognize most is the ability of parents to teach.
On November 18 and 20, a group of parents, campus leadership team members and district officials came together to develop a parent curriculum guide. This guide will allow parents to acquire knowledge on the major concepts that are being taught in the area of reading and math throughout the district.
The parent instructional guides below are the creation of Lancaster ISD parents and staff.
