Mrs. Patonia Bell is joining the Lancaster ISD family as the Chief of Data and Accountability. Bell will provide dynamic, responsive, collaborative and forward-thinking vision, leadership and management for the office of Data and Accountability to support the goals and mission of the District, as well as employ data-driven decision making to achieve continuous improvement in student and district academic performance.
Ms. Bell joins the district from Duncanville ISD, where she served four years as principal at Fairmeadows Elementary School. She is an educational leader who is a functional expert in identifying current best practices as well as potential growth areas for data and accountability.
Ms. Bell has worked at multiple levels of the education system including classroom teacher, instructional coach and Associate Principal over the course of 15 years. She is returning to serve students here in Lancaster ISD where she once served as Principal at Houston Elementary for three years. Ms. Bell’s leadership and a high standard of achievement and parent engagement have been the backbone of her success.
Dr. Dameon Gray is joining the Lancaster ISD family as the Director of Student Services. He is entering his 23rd year of service in public education and under his leadership, he will oversee district-wide discipline processes and procedures, handle parent concerns, serve as the homeless liaison, oversee enrollment, build and maintain community partnerships, and serve as the overseer for child nutritional services.
During his education career, Dr. Gray has held positions as a self-contained teacher, academic coordinator, assistant principal and principal. He has been described as a strong leader who advocates for the best interest of students.
Dr. Gray earned his Bachelor’s of Arts from Xavier University of Louisiana and a Master of Arts from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. He obtained his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M University- Commerce.
We honor Dr. Gray for serving our country and recognize him as a military veteran. He has been married to his wife Denise Gray for 23 years and they have three beautiful daughters. We welcome and look forward to the great things Dr. Gray will do in Lancaster ISD.
Ms. Rickyl’ Wesson is joining the Lancaster ISD family as the new principal of George Washington Carver 6th Grade Center. Ms. Wesson is returning to Lancaster after most recently leading Cedar Hill’s Plummer Elementary as their building principal.
Prior to joining Cedar Hill ISD, Ms. Wesson spent seven years, teaching 7th grade Math and girls athletics, served as the TAP Math Master Teacher at Lancaster Middle School and the Assistant Principal of Rosa Parks Elementary.
Ms. Wesson received her Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from Texas Tech University where she was also a member of the Red Raider Track and Field Team. She holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas at Dallas.
Ms. Wesson has a three-year-old son, Kaden.
