• Special Message about the LHS College and Career Center

The LHS College and Career Center is here to provide support for students and empower them for success. Our staff emphasizes helping students strengthen their self-concept, increase their sense of control over their education, set realistic goals, and accept responsibility for their own future. Dr. McFarland’s vision is for all students to graduate with “More Than a Diploma”. The "More Than a Diploma" initiative created the College and Career Readiness Center as a place students can come to find scholarships, research colleges, apply for admissions, register for the SAT/ACT test or meet college representatives. We work closely with the LHS Counseling Department to provide students with resources and opportunities.
We know students have many goals and each student has a unique plan, but they share the understanding that thoughtful, well-researched plans of action can help them prepare to reach their goals in life. We are committed here at LHS to supporting all students in planning for life after higher school.
We hope our students find the resources in the College and Career Readiness Center useful, and we welcome them to visit the Center.
