Principal's Message

  • Welcome Back!

     Principal Thornton

I'm excited to welcome each of you back this 2020-2021 school year, and extend a hearty welcome to the new members of our Parks family. It is my honor to serve as your Parks Principal. This year as we already know will be different. We have all been faced with overcoming new life challenges for the past 6 months. During the constant changes we've been faced with, we've learned some things about ourselves. We are resilient. We are problem solvers. We learned that we can adapt quickly.

We've learned to be grateful for what we have, to be content, and to be more understanding. We've learned to be more considerate, and forced to be patient. While we continue to build children, character, and community, my goal is for each of us this year is to be who and what we need to be for our children, ourselves, and each other. Our theme for this year is #BeRPM. We want our students to be confident in who they are and their ability to learn and do new things. We want them to be motivated to be their very best. As we work through the unforeseen changes this school year, we ask you to be flexible as we all adjust to our new way of being in school. Be assured that we will provide all students no less than the quality education each one deserves. You can be certain that we will be the Remarkable, Passionate, Magnificent educators every student deserves.

    Serving with Excellence,

    Yvonne M. Thornton
