Parents/Guardians of the Lancaster Ninth Grade Center,
Greetings Tiger family! I hope you are ready to experience an amazing school year. My staff is working hard to prepare engaging and rewarding learning experiences for all students. We look forward to seeing our returning families, and we are excited to get to know our new to district families as well. At the Ninth Grade Center, we place a high value on our partnership with parents, families, and community and we invite you to be an active part of helping students to achieve their full potential.
We believe that each and every student has a gift to share, and we will work hard to unlock their highest potential. We have high expectations for our students, and we have even higher expectations of ourselves to help all students learn and grow into wellrounded citizens and critical thinkers. We aim to develop leadership skills, social and emotional skills, and academic skills to prepare students for success not only in high school but well beyond these formative years. Our strategic onboarding process will better equip students to achieve self-sustaining success and leave a lasting legacy.
To help your student be successful in high school, help them understand what is required of them to be a good learner inside and outside of the classroom. Talk about qualities and learning behaviors such as: taking positive risks, viewing errors as opportunities, working to recover from a mistake, giving and receiving feedback, asking questions, collaborating with peers, setting goals, planning with a purpose, and tracking their own progress.
Students need both high challenge and high support to grow as learners, and we look forward to helping students maximize their growth. Please be our partners in this work. Let us know how we can help. We look forward to working with you to accomplish great things for our students!
