Interim Superintendent Appointed

The Lancaster ISD Board of Trustees met in a called meeting on Thursday December 18, 2008 and interviewed candidates for the position of Interim Superintendent. The Board interviewed four candidates and has selected Dr. Dana Marable to serve as Interim Superintendent. On Tuesday, December 23, 2008 the Board of Trustees met and approved her contract. Dr. Marable began her duties on January 5, 2009 at the district convocation.

Dr. Marable has 37 years of experience in education. She has served as a teacher, principal, curriculum director, language arts/bilingual administrator, and superintendent. Dr. Marable is the former superintendent of Medina Valley ISD, Marble Falls ISD, and Longview ISD. She served as Interim Superintendent in Temple ISD from September 2007 - June 2008.

There will be a reception for parents, students, staff and community members on Monday, January 12, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the LISD Administration Building prior to the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees.
