A Message From School Board President, Ty G. Jones

Our district has had the good fortune to have been led by Dr. Mike McFarland for the past 7 years. During that time, our academic progress and improvement in fiscal management have led to the receipt many grant opportunities and the establishment of external partnerships. We can proudly say Lancaster ISD has received the highest accountability rating in the state and a record 37 TEA Academic Distinctions—more than any school district or charter school in the Best Southwest area. For four consecutive years, the district’s campuses have all met TEA standards. We have one of the highest graduation rates of the Best Southwest and charters schools and the highest percentage of Pre-K students enrolled in our area.

As you may know, the Crowley ISD Board of Trustees named Dr. Mike McFarland as its Lone Finalist for superintendent. We are happy for Dr. McFarland and wish him the best as he prepares to begin his work in Crowley ISD.

A Special Message For Lancaster ISD Parents and Students

Unfortunately, on Sunday, July 2, staff and students learned about the tragedy involving one of our own students, Shavon Randle.

Naturally, we extend our deepest condolences to Shavon's family during this difficult time.

Our community is grieving right now and unfortunately, people who know and love Shavon have more questions than answers.

Even though school is not in session, our students are still the priority and we remain actively engaged in our community to provide information and/or resources.

On Monday, July 3, grief counselors from the leaders of the Lancaster faith-based community will be on site at the Elsie Robertson Lancaster Middle School Auditorium (located at 822 W. Pleasant Run Road) from 6 PM - 8 PM to speak with students and adults as needed.
